Have a Blessed Easter

This is the day we celebrate the greatest sacrifice ever made: Jesus dying on the cross to pay the price for our sins because it was God's plan to save us for Himself. What a God I serve! Thank you God for making the plan. Thank you Jesus for fulfilling the plan. Amen.

I thought it was Spring

Here is it, Good Friday the second day of Spring and we are getting snow. Now just a dusting but 3"-7" here by morning. A little south of here could get up to 13". Ah, Michigan, you gotta love this state. But I must admit it is pretty out there. And to think the snow was all gone except for the piles of which I have quite a lot.

The crud has hit

Wednesday morning I woke up with the beginnings of a cold. You know, the coughing, sneezing stuff. But other than that I didn't feel bad so I went to work and basically just stayed in my little corner. Figured that would be the bad day and it would be over. NOT! Thursday was much worse so I stayed home coughing, sneezing and dripping. In the afternoon I felt a little better so I went to get groceries. Well, now I have food to fix but no appetite. I found out during the night that there is nothing on TV worth watching after midnight. I kept waking up to cough and gargle. So I would turn on TV to lull me back to sleep. Pretty boring. Looks like today is another day of chair-hugging. I love my chair. Maybe I can even get in a nap or two. Tomorrow I just know I'll be better. (I hope.)

Spring -- Maybe?

It is finally starting to warm up some and the grass is even appearing here and there. Not much in my yard though. Just around the back edge of the house where the SUN hits. Yes, we've actually had sun 2 days running. It's even been warm enough that when I go to the mall to walk, I leave my jacket in the van.

Gotta brag on the U. S. Coast Guard Academy Men's Basketball team. They are in the NCAA Div III tournaments and have made it into the Sweet 16. They best showing ever. Go Bears! ! !

The postcard is my latest card. And I actually sold it! I'm happy and so is the buyer. And again, it came totally from my stash. Gotta love that.

Weddings

Friday night(Feb 29) I went to my #2 niece's wedding. Now I am not really a wedding loving person and definitely not a dress-up person. But I have to admit I had a good time and felt like I looked good. I really shocked my family. I had told them I might get a new pair of jeans to wear. Well, I got a fancy (for me) long mole skin skirt and a really cool suede jacket. It really felt weird to wear a skirt. First time in several years. I am really a jeans kinda person. It was fun seeing old acquaintances that I had not seen in years and seeing extended family I had not seen since summer.

The bride was beautiful. I think that is the way it is supposed to be. Her little niece (almost 2) and nephews(4 and 7) were so cute doing their parts. I hauled out my camera and took pictures. It was reaffirmed to me again that I would never like to be a wedding photographer. No way.

It was also reaffirmed to me that one should not have a wedding in the winter in MI. Yes it snowed. Roads were very dicey on the way home.

All in all, it was a fun evening. Mindy and Tim, I wish you many, many happy years together. Tim, welcome officially to the family.
